1. It treats cancer.
According to a research study published in Molecular Cancer Therapeutics, marijuana can help fight cancer. And another research study found that CBD can also curb the growth of cancer cells in the body. The researchers at the American Association for Cancer Research say that the herb does a good job of slowing down the growth of tumors in the lungs, breasts, and brain.
2. Marijuana prevents Alzheimer's disease.
CBD has a powerful ingredient called THC that helps control the Alzheimer's disease, says the research that was done at the Scripps Research Institute. Also, THC can curb the growth of amyloid plaques as it tends to block the plaque-producing enzymes. You may get Alzheimer's disease if your brain cells get killed by the plaques.
3. The herb treats Glaucoma.
Marijuana can be used to treat glaucoma. Actually, marijuana reduces pressure in your eyes, which helps protect your eyeball, injuring the optic nerve and causing loss of vision. According to the National Eye Institute, marijuana lowers the pressure inside the eye. These effects of the drug can prevent blindness.
4. It relieves Arthritis.
In 2011, a research study that researchers concluded that cannabis can help patients get of pain and swelling. As a result of it, patients with rheumatoid arthritis can get enough sleep.

In another research study in 2003, it found that Marijuana can be used to treat epileptic seizures. An experiment done on rats gave enough evidence that CBD does prevent seizures for up to 10hours. Essentially, THC binds the cells in the brain that are responsible for triggering seizures.

Many of the studies done in Israel to find out the benefits of Marijuana for patients with Parkinson’s disease. The study found that the drug can help ease the pain, which helps patients improve their sleep.
7. It helps with Crohn's Disease.
Cannabis is also a good choice for patients with Crohn's disease. Crohn’s causes pain and inflammation in the intestines. Patients also experience pain, weight loss, diarrhea, and nausea.
8. Protect the brain after a stroke.
Research study done on rats, mice, and monkeys from the University of Nottingham shows that marijuana may help protect the brain from damage caused by a stroke by reducing the size of the area affected by the stroke.
It isn’t the only study that has shown neuroprotective effects from marijuana. Some research studies shows that the plant may help protect the brain after other traumatic events.
