So put this list on your bucket list of lifetime accomplishments, and get to work! This will be a 10 part series, that will sometimes include top travel blogger’s picks and favorites in Europe, as well as their photos. so without further adieu, here is…
Photo and words by Fiona of London Unattached. In Perigord, the heart of foie gras and truffle land, a manicured maze of boxwood trees built on the side of a hill seems somehow unexpected. This is not the Loire, although the Chateau itself looks as if it could be; a quintessentially French construction, built in the 17th century. The boxwood gardens were planted in the 1860s. Now there are a whole series of topiary shapes, walks and canopied pathways. Part of the appeal for me is a stunning view over the Dordogne valley, while maintaining over 150,000 immaculately trimmed boxwood topiary creations is close to miraculous. One of the lesser known beautiful places to see in Europe.
