How to apply for the E-Passport in Kenya
With Kenya launching a new passport (E-Passport), current passport holders are advised to apply for the new passport by August 2019.
Requirements:
- Applicants must appear in person for digital photo and biometrics capture.
- An eCitizen pre-filled passport application form and three invoices.
- Old passport and photocopy of last two pages - For old passport holders
- Original National ID Card and photocopy.
- Original Birth certificate and photocopy.
- Original National ID Card of parents and their photocopies.
- Three Current passport size photos.
- Recommenders ID card copy

Passport photographs
- The photographs must be three in number.
- The photographs must be taken full face without a hat.
- The photographs must not be mounted.
- The size of the photographs must not be more than 2½ inches by 2 inches or less than 2 inches by 1½ inches.
- The photographs must be printed on normal thin photographic paper and must not be glazed on the reverse side.
Application
After successful form application on the eCitizen platform. You are required to visit an immigration office either in Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa for the collection of fingerprints, digital photo and signature and also to give out required documents for processing purpose.
